The Hao Ran Foundation has supported domestic and international college scholarships for Taiwanese students since 1978.
From 1995 to 2000, Hao Ran Foundation provided full scholarships to students completing master's degrees in nonprofit management programs abroad.
Hao Ran has been involved with the Star Scholarship program since 2007, in partnership with the Li-Ching Cultural and Educational Foundation, and the Fubon Cultural and Educational Foundation. The program provides underprivileged students with opportunities for higher education.
From 1997 to 2011, Hao Ran supported the Civil Engineering Research Scholarship program at NTU. The program provided up to NT$200,000 (US$6,500) per year to exemplary civil and environmental engineering graduate students.
This was an annual, full-ride scholarship for individuals accepted to graduate-level civil or environmental construction programs or related programs abroad. Students provided regular reports on their progress and academic activities.
Institutions attended by past scholarship recipients include: the Bergen School of Architecture (Norway), Delft University of Technology (Netherlands), the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (U.S.A.), the Paris Institute of Political Studies (France), Stanford University (U.S.A.), the University of Hohenheim (Germany), the University of Oxford (U.K.), and Wageningen University (Netherlands).
